Hotel Automation

For a hotel appearance is the major selling feature. The lighting control system should present the room in the best possible light. A hotel generally accommodates a variety of operating modes and hotel staff needs to be able to quickly and easily reconfigure the room between functions, to meet the differing needs of each client. To achieve this aim, the lighting designer would set up the preset scenes for all likely applications and room combinations in advance.
The most important point to note is that understanding the need and requirement of lighting control systems at various sections of the entire hotel. The hotel lighting control system should be flexible and must be as energy efficient as possible when not in use.
Now Z.S.Microtech classify some of the area in hotel where lights are necessary but if used sensibly a tremendous amount of energy can be save

Passage & corridor area
Here lights are must through out the day and night if natural lights are not present. This part consumes huge amount of energy which can be saved through motion sensor based lighting control system.

Ball room
The appearance of ball room is the major selling point of the hotel. Here all types of decorative lightings are used for best presentation. A ball room generally accommodates a variety of operating modes and hotel staff needs to be able to quickly and easily reconfigure the room between functions, to meet the differing needs of each client. To achieve this aim, the lighting designer would set up the preset scenes for all likely applications and room combinations in advance.
As well as the requirement for flexibility and repeatability of lighting settings, the room must be as energy efficient as possible when not in use. To effectively render the colours in the room, decorative light fittings and chandeliers typically utilise energy-hungry incandescent lamps. These have a short life span and are often difficult to access, but are necessary to create the atmosphere that guests expect. The control system should restrict use of expensive-to-operate lamps during times when only hotel staffs are present and use of expensive ‘public’ lighting should only be permitted by authorized persons.

Reception area or waiting room
These areas are also most important and must be presented well. Here all types of decorative lightings are used for best presentation. Here also the hotel staff needs to be able to quickly and easily reconfigure the room between functions, to meet the differing needs of each client. To achieve this aim, the lighting designer would set up the preset scenes for all likely applications and room combinations in advance.
By changing scenes to energy saving mode when not in use will save considerable amount of energy.

Outside area (i.e. lawn or compound of the hotel)
During night the lawn or compound of the hotel must be secured and well lighted. Generally high wattage halogen lights are used in these areas, which consumes heavy energy. But these lights are not needed all the time and generally used for security purpose from the intruders. Thus we can put these lights on motion sensor based lighting system which only lights up when any intruders comes into the lawn or compound. This system can save tremendous amount of energy.
